Customized Skin Peel TREATMENTS

Theraderm's Jessner Peel is full-strength and non-buffered. Jessner's solution consists of salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid), L-Lactic acid (alpha hydroxy acid) and resorcinol in lower concentrations. Each ingredient stimulates peeling action by different mechanisms. 

Jessner peels provide instant gratification in the form of a luminous complexion with little downtime. It produces a visible exfoliation of the outer epidermal skin layers, with reduction of mild pigmentation issues, diminished fine lines, reduced pore size, and improved skin texture. 

Thermaderm Jessner Peel action and depth are controlled by the number of application layers needed to obtain an even frost. The Jessner peel easily penetrates waxy/sebaceous material, making it the peel of choice for treating active acne and thicker or oily skin. 

Proper pre-procedure skin conditioning for 4-6 weeks will ensure predictability in achieving a uniform and "deeper" Jessner's peel result. Including a skin brightener and Retinol/Retin-A before peels effectively conditions the skin while suppressing melanin formation. 

2% or 4% Hydroquinone is an effective Tyrosinase Inhibitor as are L-Arbutin and Kojic Acid which come from botanical sources and are not under the regulatory constraints of the FDA. 

Client downtime without makeup will be approximately 3 to 7 days, with skin flaking starting 48 hours after peel has been administered. 

Medical Alert: If you have ever had a cold sore (oral herpes), or think you may be prone to them please let me know.  It is very important that you procure a prophylactic dose of anti-viral medication for this Chemical Peel.  The goal with this is to prevent a cold sore during recovery.  

Theraderm's Frost Peel combines the Jessner Peel with a 10% TCA peel to ensure predictable maximum results. This peel is ideal for correcting significant pigmentation problems and softening moderate lines and deeper wrinkles.  

Combining trichloroacetic acid (TCA) with the Jessneer's peel solution, which is a blend of acids, enhances peel results and can provide dramatic anti-aging results.

This peel combination can also smooth and firm skin while stimulating new collagen and elastin matrix production. TCA is considered a medium-depth peel agent by definition because it removes the epidermal layers and penetrates deep into the dermis. Depth of penetration depends on the TCA concentration and application layers. 

This peel does have significant downtime for epithelial regeneration. Downtime from the combined Jessner + TCA 10% peel ranges from 5 to 10 days, with skin flaking starting 48 hours after peel has been administered, but the results are worth it!

Expect to see results in treating hyperpigmentation, melasma and medium-depth wrinkles that are comparable to Fraxel laser or other phototherapy treatments at a fraction of the cost.
